Model
Created in Genoa, Italy during a six week stay at Clemson University’s villa - the Charles E. Daniel Center for Building Research and Urban Studies for architectural education. The ideology of our projects is inspired by the book Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. Each project takes inspiration from the city of Genoa. The site of this project is the Faro Linterna de Génova.
The ask:
Create a tower using paper that tells the story of a traveller. Create the tower with a relationship and dynamic between a listener, patron, and scribe (team members).
My approach:
Created for a Genovese sailor. Made with collected scraps from around Italy - magazines, postcards, tickets - a collection of pieces from the place. Working with ratio, paper, and folding. Made with only paper, folds, and minimal tape.
Story and site map created in collaboration with peers, all else is personal work.
